My Favorite Meditation Resources & Tips

Meditation offers a wealth of benefits, from enhancing mental health and improving sleep to reducing stress and boosting creativity. It doesn’t have to be intimidating, and I’m here to share some simple tips and resources to help you embark on your meditation journey.


Start Small

Beginning a meditation practice can feel overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be. Start with just 5 to 10 minutes a day to ease into the habit. This approach allows you to build consistency while focusing on the quality of your practice rather than the duration.


Find Your Technique

Meditation is not one-size-fits-all. Explore different techniques to find what resonates with you. You might try:

  • Mindfulness Meditation: Observe your thoughts, feelings, and sensations while focusing on your breath.

  • Affirmation Meditation: Concentrate on positive affirmations that nurture your self-esteem and body image.

Remember, meditation is meant to address your unique stressors, so your technique should be tailored to you.

Create a Comfortable Space

You don’t need specialized equipment—just a comfortable place to sit. Whether you choose to sit cross-legged on the floor, in a chair, or on your bed, ensure you’re comfortable and can maintain an upright posture. Good posture is key, so consider using a cushion for added support. If you’re sitting on a chair, make sure it supports you properly to avoid sinking down.


Embrace the Journey

Meditation is about non-judgmental awareness. There’s no right or wrong way to meditate, so embrace the bumps along the way. If your mind wanders, gently return your focus to your breath and practice mindfulness.
